This is a full summer time job and my first one in the Netherlands.
Working for Booking’s customer service (Booking.com) is a highly
demanding position. When people call you about a problem they
might have, you have to be ready to deal with it, or at least, provide
the necessary information to help. The obtained knowledge must
constantly be growing and the pace of work must be maintained in a
very high speed. People calling in customer service expect to receive a
direct and fast reply from a very calm and patient person; qualities I
have gained through Booking’s training sessions.
Freight Broker / EUROGROUP S.A.
January 2013- April 2013
As a freight broker I had to negotiate shipping rates with the shippers
or the receivers depending who was giving the order for these
transportations. Furthermore, I had to arrange and keep tracking of
the transportation and oversee the handling for the collection
/delivery of it.
Freight Forwarder / HELLAS LOGISTICS S.A.
April 2006- December 2012
I was the leader forwarder for the team that was handling the
transportation line including imports and exports of U.K., Spain and
Italy. I had to speak with the clients, offer a competitive price for
their transportation, organize it with our agents abroad, make the
necessary bookings of space in the international carriers and keep
trucking of all this process. At the same time, I had to make the same
things and arrangements for all the clients our agents and our
company’s sales people had that could occur every time of the day
within the week. Furthermore, I was responsible for 2 people who
were under my supervision and they had to organize the handling for
the collections and deliveries of the shipments under my instructions
to our depots.
Handler of Freight Forwarder / INTERDROMON S.A.
September 2003- March 2006
Starting with this company in a different place by making the
appointments between clients and sales people and keeping truck of
the sales statistics. Though my development finally was in a different
field in this company. I ended up making the handling of all the
shipments and of all clients that were imported and exported by this
forwarder. This job required particularly excellent organization skills
and fast reflexes to solve all the unexpected daily problems that can
occur. The development of these skills of course helped me to evolve
and take another better work place in my following job.
Floor Manager / MC DONALDS
September 2002 – July 2003
Starting as Shift Manager after completing a special course of rules
and standards that exist by the law in every fast food cooperation I
was responsible for the organization of the personnel for a specific
8hour shift and I had the total oversee of the working progress of the
kitchen and the cashiers. Then I moved on to work as Floor Manager,
that meant that I had under my control all the function of the store.
That included the personnel of the store, to organize their jobs, share
responsibilities and oversee them.
